Astaxanthin, often called the “queen of antioxidants,” comes from the unique microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis grown in one of the cleanest places on Earth—the Kona coast of Hawaii.
Astaxanthin is a natural red carotenoid belonging to the xanthophyll family. It is produced by the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis, which synthesize it under stress conditions (e.g., intense sunlight or nutrient deficiency) as protection against free radicals and UV radiation. In nature, astaxanthin gives salmon, shrimp, and flamingos their characteristic pink-red color.
This astaxanthin is sourced from Haematococcus pluvialis cultivated in one of the cleanest environments in the world — the Kona coast of Hawaii. The algae are grown in open, sunlit raceway ponds using crystal-clear, lava-filtered water and deep ocean water rich in trace minerals. The combination of Hawaiian sunlight, oceanic minerals, and volcanic terrain results in exceptionally pure and biologically stable astaxanthin.
